Badewanne

2007 // 2 channel video-installation

The installation is set up by a 2 channel video screening on a flat white table. The projection shows two recurrent elements in art: a naked body (my own body displayed in real size) inside a bathtube. The body is fragmented by three simultaneous spotlights, which highlight three different parts of the body. On the white surface where the image is projected, a text has been written about the story of “Ucchuracay”, an andean village that suffered attacks and massacres in the 1980’s Peru by both the military and the guerilla getting public attention only after a group of journalists where murdered by the local community. The work deals further on with the representation of traumatic events by textual, audiovisual and symbolic means.
